TASK 9: Practice satin stitch
1 Bring the needle out through A and put it in through Fig 2
B as shown in Fig 1. So, that makes a stitch which
covers a small area between the stitch lines.

2 Bring the needle back through C, a point very close
to A as shown in Fig 2. Continue this action over the
two stitch lines.
3 Finish the stitch as the area is filled as shown in
Fig 3.
You will be spending as much thread on the
reverse side as you do on the actual side of
the fabric.

TASK 10: Practice button hole stitch

1 Bring the needle out through A and pass the needle 2 Pull out the needle towards to direct the knot towards
through B over the thread, as shown in Fig 1, take out the bottom as shown in Fig 2. This creates a stitch
from C. Loop the remaining part of the thread behind with the knot on point B. Continue the process D, E
the needle and knot on point D.
